Q. Is there a limit to how many lessons I can take in a week?

A. There is no limit to how many lessons you can take per week.

Q. Should I stay with my child or should I leave them alone?

A. It is recommended that parents allow their children to try as best as they can to complete their English lessons by themselves in order to build their skills. However, if your child is struggling or cannot concentrate, we do ask that parents assist their children in such situations. If there are any specific requirements that you feel your child needs in order to maintain successful lessons, please contact us.

Q. How do I access the homework?

A. It is not required to complete the homework, however, in order to maintain and build English skills, we recommend that you do your homework after each class.

There are 2 ways to access homework.

From the top navigation bar:

1) Go to your home page. On the top navigation bar, go to your name.

2) On the drop down menu, go to Homework.

3) Go to the course in which you want to view the latest class's homework.

From your Schedule page:

1) From your homepage, go to your Schedule page (the calendar icon on the lefthand side bar).

2) Scroll down to Your Class Schedule; you will be able to view all of the upcoming class's homework as well as your latest class's homework*.

*Please note: if your latest class' homework is unavailable, please refer to checking the homework from the top navigation bar.

Q. What are the levels of the lessons?

A. Levels of the lessons all fall under the Unit that they are in. With each Unit, the level will steadily increase as the student is increasing their English skills as the course goes on. Unit 7 lessons will be more advanced than Unit 1 lessons. Students will be able to steadily increase their core skills as they take their lessons sequentially.

Q. Can we choose teachers?

A. It is up to you to choose which teachers to book lessons for. We recommend taking lessons with a variety of GSA teachers in order to experience different forms of learning. Our GSA teachers come from all over the world, with many coming from educational backgrounds and differing educational institutions, and while the class curriculum remains the same, we encourage our GSA teachers to adapt lessons as they see fit for GSA students to encourage various ways of learning.

Q. Does my level change if I change teachers?

A. Our GSA teachers record student notes after each class that a student takes, which are then submitted to the next teacher to review overall student details and progress. Therefore, your level does not change if you change teachers, as all our GSA teachers are delivered student progress details before your child's next class.

Q. How can I get a substitute teacher for my class?

A. GSA teachers may ask for substitutions due to technical difficulties or personal reasons. For such times, the lessons will be cancelled. However, if you wish to have a substitute teacher teach the class, please indicate by checking the box in the Settting page. Please note that you cannot choose the substitute teachers, and that there may be times where no substitute teachers are available and the class will be cancelled.

Q. Are there GSA teachers who can speak Japanese?

A. While most GSA teachers only teach in English, there are several GSA teachers who are bilingual. To search for bilingual teachers, you will be able to choose options between English or bilingual.
